Why is going on a date today so much different than it was when I was young?

Were you young in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s? Dating has been changing in every decade.
I think the big influences in the past 20 years have been mass free online porn, dating apps that mislead people into thinking they can always do better, and social media. They have all had highly negative effects IMHO, though the last 2 have also had some positive effects too.
If you mentioned when exactly you were young, you may get more precise answers.
